{VIDEO} From pigment to PAINT: one BLEND, three paints ✨

One BLEND, three paints ✨

Hi Reader!

Clay paint has been part of my studio practice since around 2012.

I wanted something matte that I could mix into all kinds of mixed media mediums. Years of those experiments became the NEW Mineral Pigment BLENDS: dry color with a mineral base, clay, and earth pigments, hand mixed in small batches.

This week, I filmed one BLEND becoming three different paints:

• Watercolor: a tiny bit of pigment and gum arabic, blended with a palette knife

• Ink: pigment stirred into distilled water, plus gum arabic, painting freestyle botanicals in a Hobonichi Weeks planner

• Acrylic: stirred into titanium white high flow for a soft, matte aubergine, then into iridescent silver fluid for shimmer

Learn all about the NEW Mineral Pigment BLENDS! I added the video and the step-by-step instructions on my #tracibautistaCOLOR journal, so you can come back to it while you experiment & PLAY in your studio.

My ninth holiday release is two collections, both built around Mineral Pigment BLENDS:

  • Gilded Petals Holiday Box: a gathering of winter blooms. Pomegranate petals, faded pink silk, evergreen branches, and the soft gleam of worn gold.
  • Rosewood & Starlight Winter Botanicals Set: a winter garden after dusk. Dusty rose petals, cranberry-stained velvet, weathered wood, and smoky blue-green foliage catching little traces of light.

Each HOLIDAY 2026 box also comes with ready-to-use handcrafted artisanal shimmer/sheer inks and a CONFETTI CAKE wax medium. You make your own color with the BLENDS, and experiment with altering your mixed media materials.

Both include the Pigment PLAY: Holiday Paint + Swatch Workshop and the HOLIDAY 2026 Digital PLAYbook, and ship in early December.

Pair them. Order both sets and I'll tuck in a bonus mini drawing stick: pigmented wax medium topped with wax confetti, in a craft tube. Each one is a surprise color.

P.S. HOLIDAY 2026 opens to you tomorrow morning. Half the boxes are already spoken for by my early access collectors, so keep an eye on your inbox. ✨WATCH THE VIDEO

A first look at HOLIDAY 2026 ✨ Hi Reader! Every December growing up in the '80s, I made our holiday decorations. Big silk flower arrangements. Gilded berries that sparkled under the lights. Oversized holiday florals bundled together and tucked into the branches of the Christmas tree. The photos are tucked away in albums at my parents' house, but I still remember how it felt to make them. Picking out every sprig and choosing the color palette was one of my favorite holiday memories. Years...

And this feels like the perfect time to do it. In November, I celebrate 25 years of my creative business since leaving Silicon Valley to build a career and business as an artist. It’s been one long, winding creative road. Before making that leap, I spent more than eight years working in tech as a graphic designer, eventually moving into...
