Last call: Velvet & Verdigris collection Orders close Thursday đź’Ś

Pre-orders close 2/5 ~ VELVET & VERDIGRIS đź’Ś

Reader…

Hi creative friend!

Remember when I told you about the NEW Velvet & Verdigris collection being born from my antique and thrifting adventures—all those wax-sealed letters, tarnished jewelry, and fabric swatches I've been sorting through?

I've been sitting in my studio this week surrounded by those finds alongside my valentine swatches, and I realized something: these two palettes tell completely different love stories from the same vintage world.

When I first brainstormed the handcrafted paint collection idea and the Velvet set, I was thinking about the warm side of those antiques—dusty rose velvet ribbon still soft to the touch, the glow of aged bronze jewelry, that terracotta warmth of old parchment paper. It's romance with patina, but gentle.

Verdigris? That came from the moodier treasures—oxidized copper brooches gone teal and green, midnight plum velvet lining in old jewelry boxes, the shadowy beauty of metal that's weathered and changed. It's drama and depth, still vintage, but with an edge.

Orders close Thursday: I'm closing pre-orders on February 5th so I can get these into your hands soon. If you've been on the fence, this is your moment.

Choose Your Palette: VELVET & VERDIGRIS

Two moody, patina-inspired artisanal mixed media paint palettes (one warm candlelight romance, one oxidized copper drama) designed to work beautifully together or stand alone.

Still deciding? Here's your quick guide:

VELVET — warm, grounded romance

  • candlelight tones + wax-seal romance
  • warm rose + terracotta warmth
  • aged bronze glow + parchment neutrals
  • "soft + grounded" palettes that still feel bold

VERDIGRIS — cool, shadowed depth

  • moody shadows + inky atmosphere
  • teal velvet + oxidized copper greens
  • midnight plum + smoky sage
  • "mysterious + cinematic" palettes with depth

What's inside each handcrafted paint set

  • 2 Mineral Wash Inks (20ml) — pigment-rich, matte-finish inks for expressive blooms and atmospheric washes
  • 2 Pigment Bars — 1 multicolor confetti bar + 1 monoprint bar for wax resist, rubbing, and monoprinting
  • 1 Mini Confetti Cake (.5 oz) — texture-rich wax with specks and surprises
  • Collector swatch card printable + Digital Studio Notes

💌 Collector bonus: Order both sets and receive the limited 10ml Patina Copper Ink (blue-green shimmer with copper glow—not available separately).

If you love color with story — the kind that feels like a keepsake the moment you open it — I think you're going to fall hard for this one.

Each set is handcrafted in small batches. Once they're gone, they won't return.

P.S. These palettes were designed to work together. Grab both before pre-orders close Feb 5th and get the bonus 10ml Patina Copper Ink—only available with the collector set.

With creativity and color and so much gratitude 🙏 ...

Reader… Every #tracibautistaCOLOR collection starts the same way — with a spark of inspiration. A color. A texture. A place I keep photographing. A motif that shows up in my sketchbook whether I plan it or not. The URBAN PETALS: Concrete Bloom collection started with a tree I'd walked past on my morning walks for months and never really seen — until it bloomed. That single spark became the centerpiece for the color palette, the mood, the name, the product graphics, and eventually a sold-out...

Reader… The URBAN PETALS: Concrete Bloom Collector's Box sold out! I'm still a little in awe of that — every time it happens, it reminds me why I do this work. So first: thank you. Whether you grabbed a box, shared the collection with a friend, or just followed along as the whole thing came together — I appreciate you being here. I want to tell you something about how this collection started. Because it wasn't at the paint making table. If you’ve read my last few emails, you’ll know it...

Reader… A paint collection starts long before the first pigment is mulled. It starts with design — the walks, the thinking, the research, and the inspiration that give the making its direction. The colors are chosen. The mood board is designed. The direction is set. Now comes the part I love most — turning that vision into physical paint. The inks, the PIGMENT BARS, the Wax Printmaking Oil Bars are all next, and the design work you're about to see is exactly what makes that making possible....
